PREVENTATIVE DENTAL CARE IN MOORESVILLE AND STATESVILLE, NC

Preventative dentistry is dental care that helps maintain good oral health. It’s a combination of consistent regular dental check-ups along with good dental hygiene habits at home like brushing and flossing. Taking care of your teeth starts early in childhood and should extend through the course of your life.

At Calm Waters Dentistry & Implants, our mission is to protect and preserve every smile that walks through our doors. Our preventive dental services focus on both general dentistry and treatment to keep your teeth and gums healthy for life.

We use advanced technology and modern techniques to make your visits more efficient and comfortable, helping you spend less time in the chair and more time enjoying your smile.

General dentistry covers all aspects of routine oral care from cleanings and exams to treating concerns like gum disease, halitosis, or teeth grinding. Whatever your needs, our team is here to provide personalized care that supports your long-term oral health.

CLEANINGS & CHECKUPS

Routine cleanings and checkups are the foundation of oral health. We recommend two visits per year or more if you have gum disease. Professional cleanings remove plaque and tartar that brushing and flossing cannot, while also including a periodontal exam to monitor gum health.

These visits not only prevent gum infections and tooth decay but also help reduce long-term dental costs by catching issues early.

COMPREHENSIVE DENTAL EXAMS

At least once a year, Dr. Wentworth performs a detailed exam to check for cavities, gum recession, cracks, and other concerns. We also provide oral cancer screenings during your exam for early detection.

Regular exams and cleanings are typically covered by dental insurance as preventive care, making them a simple, cost-effective way to protect your family’s oral health.

How Long Does An Exam Take?
Most appointments last 30–60 minutes. Additional time may be needed for X-rays or treatment.

Do cleanings whiten teeth?
Cleanings improve oral health and can remove staining which can improve the appearance of your teeth. However, it's not a formal whitening procedure.

What if I haven’t been to the dentist in years?

What to Expect During Your Visit

We pay special attention to gum disease, one of the most common oral health issues in adults, as it can also affect overall health if left untreated. Whatever your needs, our team is committed to helping you achieve lasting oral health with care that’s both realistic and effective.
